It is always a good idea to find ways of reducing stress and anxiety during stressful holiday season. Studies show that gratitude makes us happier both in relationships and in life, helps us reduce stress, lowers our blood pressure, detox our mind, helps us heal, makes us wiser, etc.

So, are you ready to start practicing gratitude, the “quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness”?

Being grateful most of the time is always a challenge, but if we are consistent enough, we can turn it  into a habit that might literally save our life.

Gratitude Meditation

Sit comfortable close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths.

Keep on breathing for a couple of minutes focusing on inhaling and exhaling only.

Inhale energy… – Exhale gratitude….

Inhale love… – Exhale gratitude

Inhale gratitude… – Exhale gratitude

Now think of any tiny thing in your life  you are grateful for today. Try to formulate five sentences – five walking mantras for today:

Today, I am thankful for…

Today, I am thankful for…

Today, I am thankful for…

Today, I am thankful for…

Today, I am thankful for…

Keep on breathing with your eyes closed.

Now open your eyes and very slow get back to your daily routine.

Every time you walk, use today’s walking mantras.

Every time you feel upset, use your walking mantras.

Every time you feel that you got stuck, use your walking mantras.

Use only today’s walking mantras, because tomorrow will be another day, and you will find new things to be grateful for.

Just keep on breathing, walking, and being grateful – the rest will get better with time.
